The term technology transfer can take on various meanings. Primarily, technology transfer stands for the transfer and passing on of technical know-how between various partnership-oriented participants (companies, institutions, states, etc.) with the aim of creating added value and using it for industrial processes. Characteristic features are a goal-oriented, planned and scheduled approach as well as comprehensive contracts that regulate the rights and obligations of the participants. The topics and contents of technology transfer range from the pure transfer of knowledge to the transfer of process- and machine-oriented instructions.
