The two wires of a ther­mo­cou­ple for mea­sur­ing tem­per­a­tures form a cou­ple. Ther­mo­cou­ples can con­sist of nu­mer­ous dif­fer­ent met­al wire com­bi­na­tions. The de­sign of the ther­mo­cou­ple is there­fore al­so of cru­cial im­por­tance for the sen­so­ry pre­ci­sion and per­for­mance of a ther­mo­cou­ple.
